The Controversial in the title should not put you off but it reflects the considered views of the author and editor following years of intensive study at a reputed painting school and research on paintings and their construction in hundreds of reputable books. Nonetheless, the word Controversial invites you to be critical and seek your own version of how to paint; but, please, in a non-confrontational way, we are gentle artists. You will find better ways than those mentioned here but be critical from considered knowledge, not second-hand opinion. The methods are designed to enable you to produce archival-quality paintings.
